Contenido :  Una delegación integrada por ocho profesionales visitó Australia con el cometido de observar in situ el funcionamiento de unidades robóticas de ordeño voluntario en sistemas pastoriles y dialogar con productores lecheros que los utilizan, en algunos casos desde comienzos de este siglo. El grupo se integró con técnicos de Inia, Conaprole, Inale y la empresa GEA. De alguna forma la gira es un preámbulo de la jornada de porteras abiertas, que se realizará el próximo 31 de agosto en Inia La Estanzuela, cuando se exhibirá, ya instalada, la primera unidad robótica de Uruguay, precisamente de marca GEA. La misma se pondrá a funcionar en los próximos meses, permitiendo a los investigadores asumir los primeros riesgos que conlleva la innovación tecnológica, evitándolos al productor primer adoptante, y poniendo a disposición valiosa información para que el sector pueda transitar en un lapso razonable este camino en el cual otros países ya han avanzado desde hace años. A continuación se recogen impresiones de tres integrantes del grupo: 1. Es factible el uso de sistemas de ordeño voluntario en Uruguay. Dr. Darío Hirigoyen. 2. Mejora de condiciones laborales, del rodeo y la productividad. Dr. Carlos Grela. 3. Investigamos el uso adecuado de esta tecnología en nuestras condiciones. Ing. Agr. Santiago Fariña.
